Janey’s deep local roots fuel her day to day. Here she shares the people and places that form an important bridge from the past to the present.
I learned how to parallel park on the steepest hills in San Francisco on my first driving lesson with an instructor.
In Sonoma, we take evening walks into town and grab ice cream made from Sonoma’s Watmaugh Strawberry Patch…for me, it’s the true taste of summer.
It’s so exciting to run into my parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew, aunts and uncles on the streets of San Francisco. Home is where my family and friends are.
Yep, I am a third generation San Franciscan and I could not imagine growing up anywhere else. It’s a beautiful city to call home. I learned how to parallel park on the steepest hills in the city on my first driving lesson with an instructor. There’s nothing like a brisk morning with a cup of coffee and my best friends walking by my side at Crissy Field. Home is where my family and friends are.
There was never a dull moment. Our home was filled with lots of love and constant laughter. Family outings consisted of walks to our local park, dinners on West Portal Ave. and many visits to Candlestick Park to cheer on the Giants and Niners. My brother and I went to the same grammar school and high school as my dad and the same college as our parents, Santa Clara University. Go Broncos!
My favorite Saturdays are the ones during the summer months when my family and I are up in Sonoma. My dad, brother, husband and I can be found at Rooster Run Golf Club for an 8 a.m. tee time — it’s a guaranteed 4–5 hours of nonstop laughing and great conversation. The rest of the afternoon is spent basking in the warm summer sun around the pool with dear friends. We take evening walks into town and grab ice cream made from Sonoma’s Watmaugh Strawberry Patch…for me, it’s the true taste of summer.
I am a huge fan of everything and anything Necessaire. My favorite scent is Bergamot. All of their products leave my skin feeling hydrated, smooth and clean.
One hundred percent it’s the people I get to work with on a daily basis. VMG has truly become an extended family. It’s a group of people that will lift you up and provide support and encouragement whenever needed. VMG feels like home!
