Evan Mintz

For a founder, their company is not just their employer.

Curious, energetic, and always ready to pay it forward—Evan embodies much of what we’re all about at VMG. Oh, and he’s friends with Steph Curry.

Curious Evan

I was always asking questions. I’m the kid waving his hand in class asking “But… why?” Fun fact: the theme for one of my birthday parties was Curious George.

Feeding a passion

I love to cook and I’m constantly reading about food / restaurants / chefs. And I love cooking for friends. No point in satisfying curiosity if you don’t pay it forward, ya know?

Steph Curry and me

In college I helped him with macroeconomics. We ended up producing a music video that went viral. He taught me passion, commitment, and how to shoot a mean three pointer.

Founders live and breath their missions 24/7, 365. It’s exciting to be the one chosen to partner with them.

Ok. Give us a snapshot of you at age 10. Go.

OMG, so curious. Always asking questions. I’m the kid waving his hand in class asking “But… why?” Fun fact: the theme for one of my birthday parties was Curious George.

Where’d you get that curiosity?

Well, I was born 3 months premature and weighed 2 lbs 5oz. Could be that? Maybe 3 months in a hospital makes you super curious about the outside world? Just a theory.

Aside from work, where else do you apply this curiosity of yours?

In the kitchen! I love to cook and I’m constantly reading about food / restaurants / chefs. Always more to learn. And I love cooking for friends. No point in satisfying curiosity if you don’t pay it forward, ya know?

So once you learn you have the urge to pass it on?

Thanks for setting up my favorite story. In college I was friends with Steph Curry and helped him with macroeconomics. We ended up producing a music video that went viral. He taught me passion, commitment and how to shoot a mean three pointer.

Sounds like you’re using Steph’s lessons working at VMG, right?

Working with founders and hearing their stories I understand how it’s all about passion. You either have it or you don't. If you aren't passionate about what you are building then someone else, who is passionate, will simply out hustle you. I love being around that.

What do you love most or find most exciting about working with founder-driven companies and brands?

These brands are their babies. These brands are their livelihood. For a founder, their company is not just their employer. Founders live and breath their missions 24/7, 365. It’s exciting to be the one chosen to partner with these founders and help them accelerate growth for their brand.

What 3 words would you use to describe the relationship between VMG and your entrepreneurial partners?

3 F's - Familial, Formidable, and Fun. (I made this up. Not an actual VMG saying). Just like when I was a kid in the classroom, I come to work full of energy ready to work.

Ready to craft new tag lines for VMG!

Hey, there’s more where that came from.
