Backing it way up…what’s the first brand you remember really connecting with?

Adidas. I had a red Adidas T-shirt with the quote “All Day I Dream About Soccer” written across the front. I tried to wear that shirt to elementary school every chance I got —that is, when my mom allowed me to break from my floral dress, white stocking sand flats. I’ve played soccer since I could walk, and still play in an adult league; although I definitely don’t fit into that red Adidas T-shirt anymore!

What did you learn from your family (other than to make your own wardrobe choices)?

I was the youngest child and only girl with four older brothers. Everyone’s first response is, “Wow, you must have been treated like a princess.” But quite the opposite is true. My brothers would tease me and throw me in as street hockey goalie when I was three years old. Still, I couldn't be more thankful for all of those experiences. Constantly competing with four strong older brothers made me always have to push my limits and be resilient and tough from a young age.

Shifting gears…what song could you play on repeat and never get sick of?

Any song by Andrea Bocelli. His voice is so powerful and his story is inspiring. He became legally blind at 12 years old from a soccer accident and is now one of the world’s most popular tenor singers. His was the first concert my fiancé and I went to together, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We will also soon behaving our first dance at our wedding to Andrea Bocelli!

So romantic! On to VMG. What makes you look forward to going to work? (Besides occasional donuts, of course.)

As the fund accountant, I love being able to see the complete process, from the initial investment of a portfolio company all the way through sale and realizing the benefits it brings to our investors. VMG does an amazing job of keeping all members of the team aware of new challenges so that we can tackle them together to ensure the greatest success for both our portfolio companies and our investors.

You’ve come a long way from street hockey goalie.

Oh yes. This team treats me way better than my brothers did.
